On Board the Bus
Driver Assistance (Door to Door)
Door-to-door assistance may be provided as a reasonable modification. If your request for assistance is a reasonable modification, the driver can assist you to or from the vehicle, navigate a moderate incline or curb, or assist you with boarding the bus. The driver cannot lose sight of the vehicle. The driver will not enter into lobbies of apartments, professional buildings or retail establishments. Please review important details about the ADA & modifications page.
Shopping Carts, Bags/Parcels and Bulky Items
• Customers shopping carts must not be overfilled. If carrying backs, you may bring only what you can carry on your lap, not on the seat or floor. (Average2-4 bags.)
• A very bulky item that fills a seat or is a safety hazard is not permitted on an Access vehicle.
Seatbelt Recommendation
RTS Access cares about your safety. Traffic conditions may sometimes require the vehicle operator to make sudden stops, turns, or maneuvers. Fastening your seatbelt ensures a safer ride.
For your safety, we strongly recommend that you wear your seatbelt or seatbelt/shoulder harness (if traveling in a wheelchair/scooter). Your seatbelt should be fastened before the vehicle begins to move. Upon request, drivers will assist customers with fastening and unfastening their seatbelts and seatbelt/shoulder harnesses for those using a wheelchair/scooter.
