Board of Commissioners

The Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority is governed by a 16 member Board of Commissioners.  Commissioners are individuals who have been recommended by their applicable local governing bodies, nominated by the Governor of New York State, and confirmed by the New York State Senate. Monroe County recommends four Commissioners; each of the other member counties recommends one voting Commissioner; and the City of Rochester recommends three voting Commissioners. One voting Commissioner will represent transit-dependent and paratransit-dependent customers, and one non-voting member is recommended by the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 282.
