RTS Announces Improvements to Routes One and Four in Ontario County

June 23, 2016

Rochester, NY: Regional Transit Service (RTS) today announced that improvements to Routes 1 and 4 in Ontario County will go into effect on Monday, June 27, 2016. The improvements will include increased route coverage in Geneva, reduced burden on Route 4, an express commute between Geneva and Canandaigua, and a reduction in redundant stops that will improve the overall efficiency of the routes.

The improvements in Geneva will lead to increased service to employers such as Seneca Foods, Zotos, and Guardian Glass, as well as residential communities such as Lyceum Heights, Sheridan Park Apartments, and the Mobile Home Community. The changes will also increase service to Geneva medical providers and sync RTS service with class times at Finger Lakes Community College to better connect students, faculty and staff to the campus.

“These changes are based on feedback we received from the community during recent outreach efforts and will make it easier for customers in Geneva and Canandaigua to enjoy the ride,” said Bill Carpenter, CEO of RTS.

The new map and schedule for Route 1 and Route 4 is now available at myRTS.com.

Customers in Ontario County who have questions about the new service can contact the RTS Ontario office at (585) 394-2250.
