RTS Extends Waiving of Fares Through June 21, 2020

Rochester, NY: Regional Transit Service (RTS) announced today that the temporary waiving of fares will be extended through June 21, to support the efforts of Phase 2 of the New York Forward reopening process. A decision about whether or not the fares will be extended beyond June 21 will be made by June 15.

RTS initially waved fares on March 19, 2020 to help protect RTS Bus Operators and customers. RTS encourages customers to follow the guidance of elected leaders and health experts as the reopening process continues. This includes wearing a face mask or face covering when on the bus and in public, and maintaining a distance of six feet between each other on the bus, at the RTS Transit Center and at bus stops.
