RTS Ontario—Only Our Name Has Changed

RTS Ontario is committed to providing the same safe, reliable, convenient service that customers know and trust.

When Ontario County joined the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (now RTS) on Aug. 1, the name changed to RTS Ontario. It may have seemed like other changes were coming, too.

RTS wants to assure area residents that only the look and name have changed. RTS Ontario is still the same safe, reliable and convenient service customers already know.

To respond to community concerns about changes that may be in the works, RTS Ontario has put together information on their website with answers to frequently asked questions. There are answers to questions about topics such as fares, bus routes, bus stops and connections, fixed-route service, Dial-a-Ride, and bus tokens. None will change. The information can be found at www.myRTS.com/Livingston

Below are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions:

Q.  Are fares changing for our customers?

A.   No, fares are staying the same. 

Q.  Are you still accepting bus tokens?

A.  Yes, we’re accepting tokens through December 31, 2014.  Customers may purchase a $9 or $17 value pass from Bus Operators Monday through Friday. Customers must have the exact change ready.

Q.  Are RTS Ontario routes changing?

A.  No, there are no plans to change the RTS Ontario Routes. RTS will be conducting a regional Service Audit in 2015 across all its regional counties. Bus Operators and customers in Ontario County will be asked for their feedback, questions or concerns on our current service.

Q. Have the bus connections between Ontario County and Monroe County changed?

A. The connections between Ontario and Monroe County also have not changed.  The transfer point still remains at Eastview Mall, in Victor.

Q. Have the bus connections between Ontario County and Seneca County changed?

A.  The connections between Ontario County and Seneca County have not changed.  The transfer points still remain at the Geneva Transit Hub and Geneva General Hospital. 

Q. Has Dial-A-Ride service changed in Ontario County?

A: No, the Dial-A-Ride service has not changed and is still offered to customers who do not live along a fixed route.

Q. Are the schedule times changing for our fixed routes?

A. The schedule times are not changing for our fixed routes. All schedules are located online at myRTS.com/Ontario, by contacting RTS Ontario at 585-394-2250 or by emailing us at Ontario@myRTS.com.

Q.  Are there any changes to bus stop locations?

A.  No, our stops remain the same, and customers may flag down a bus along our fixed routes to be picked up.
