Express service to Northgate Plaza and a new route to MCC are among changes

RTS customers will see minor schedule changes to current schedules on May 4, with the exception of a new route that was created to extend service to the 19th Ward and Monroe Community College campus, and a pilot route that will provide faster trips to Walmart at Northgate Plaza.

Route 25 Thurston/MCC will continue to expand coverage for customers between the RTS Transit Center and the 19th Ward, and more than double trips between the 19th Ward and MCC. For the first time, RTS service will extend along the route to Brighton-Henrietta Town Line Road. Route 25 Thurston/MCC replaces Routes 2 Thurston and 12 19th Ward/MCC.

A new pilot route, 150 Dewey Limited, will save time for customers who ride 10 Dewey to Walmart at Northgate Plaza.  150 Dewey Limited will alternate with 10 Dewey and depart from the RTS Transit Center every 30 minutes on weekdays until 8 p.m. 150 Dewey Limited is a pilot program and requires customer feedback before it becomes permanent. To comment, contact RTS at (585) 288-1700 or Monroe@myRTS.com

Other adjustments include the discontinuation of the weekday/Saturday/Sunday 9:55 p.m. trip to The Shire at Culverton and 8 Chili’s morning and afternoon trip on weekdays and Saturday to Westgate Nursing Home. Slight timing adjustments will apply to other routes.

Descriptions of new routes and list of all schedule changes are available online at www.myRTS.com/preview. To learn more about how RTS plans and redesigns routes, or to comment on a route, visit www.myRTS.com/Planning.
